ABOUT THE WEBINAR

This event will discuss the best approaches to systematically integrate GIS in M&E systems of development interventions in order to establish a data foundation for more transparent monitoring and impact assessment. Agencies like IFAD should map their own investments in order to leverage emerging geospatial technologies and information.

Dr Clement Albergel, Climate Scientist from the European Space Agency, will share their experiences from the Global Development Assistance initiative – a global partnership that mainstreams the use of Earth observation data into development operations to accelerate impact.

Athur Mabiso is Senior Economist at IFAD. He works on impact assessments and conducts research on a variety of topics in development economics. Prior to joining IFAD, he worked at the International Food Policy Research Institute, conducting research and engaging with policymakers and development partners in developing countries in Africa and Asia.

Oliver Mundy is Environmental Analyst at IFAD. He is coordinating IFAD’s GeoTech4Tenure learning programme. Prior to IFAD, Oliver worked in FAO on pastoralism, studied agrobiodiversity in Kenya, and practiced conservation farming in Lesotho.
