Francisco Pereira Fontes

Francisco Pereira Fontes is an Economist in the Agrifood Economics Division at FAO. He obtained his PhD in Environmental Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He has over 7 years of experience working in international development, having worked for different organizations, including the Ministry of Finance in East Timor (ODI Fellow), Africa Rice Center (Benin), and FAO. He is currently working for the MAFAP (Monitoring and Analysing Food and Agricultural Policies) programme, where he works on policy prioritization to achieve sustainable agrifood systems transformation and coordinates the activities of the programme in Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Mozambique.
