FARM-D Podcast – Episode 3 : The use of rural finance in Agricultural Risk Management

Focus Topic:
FARM-D CoP, Rural Finance / Insurance

In the agriculture sector, a large number of rural people do not have access to basic financial services due to weak infrastructure, limited capacity of financial service providers, and low levels of clients’ education about these services. To fill such gap, working to ensure access of small producers to sustainable and inclusive financial services can help to strengthen their ability to build assets, manage risks and sustain their livelihoods.

We discuss the topic with our guest Mr Getaneh Gobezie, Independent Consultant and Expert on Rural Finance, Women and Youth Economic Empowerment who worked alongside Multilateral Organizations like IFAD, FAO, Oxfam-Novib, CARE International and the ICCO, interviewed by Anaïs Petitjean, FARM-D Community of Practice Specialist.
