Valentina Pernechele is an Economist and Policy Analyst in the AgriFood Economics Division at FAO. She graduated in development economics from the University of Florence and has over ten years of experience in food and agricultural policy and price monitoring, with a focus on developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. She is currently working for the MAFAP (Monitoring and Analysing Food and Agricultural Policies) programme, where she coordinates the production of policy support indicators and analyses at country level to assist governments in identifying effective reform options to achieve sustainable agri-food systems transformation.
