[CIRAD] Peste des petits ruminants affects sheep and goats, with dramatic consequences for rural families in the global South. CIRAD has been working for 40 years on various lines of research – improved diagnosis and vaccines, the role of wildlife in spreading the virus, increased monitoring by local people, and so on – as part of the campaign to eradicate the disease worldwide. We take stock of the latest progress.
