Times of India (Jan. 2, 2012) | As the name suggests Rajamudi rice was reserved only for Maharajas of Mysore and they relished it. Even Tipu Sultan used to get Rajamudi rice from Hassan district as he was a connoisseur of this variety . Today neither agriculture scientists nor connoisseurs have heard about this rice variety grown in olden days by farmers of this region.
