India: Fertilisers shortage unlikely to affect wheat sowing

MSN News (Dec. 2, 2011) | The government today said shortage of fertilisers is unlikely to affect sowing operation of wheat in the ongoing rabi (winter) season. “There is no indication that sowing of wheat can be affected during the rabi 2011-12 season(starting October) because of non-availability of fertiliser in sufficient quantity,” Minister of State for Agriculture Harish Rawat said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
