Sugar pushes global food prices up in June but remain below record high earlier this year

Washington Post (July 7, 2011) | A U.N. agency says rising sugar prices pushed up global food prices once again in June after a brief lull. The Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization said Thursday its price index rose 1 percent during the month. Despite the increase, food prices are still 4 percent below the all-time high recorded in February.
