China: More than 10 per cent of Chinese rice tainted with cadmium

Spero News (Feb. 16, 2011) | An official study found the presence of toxic metals in samples, up to 60 per cent in some regions. Farmland and water are polluted and rice easily absorbs cadmium. Lead and other metals are present as well. Serious food safety problems are commonplace in the mainland.
