The Agri-PDB Platform is organizing a special event in collaboration with the Adaptation and Resilience Investors Collaborative (ARIC), focusing on the crucial topic of “Climate Adaptation Bonds for Agriculture Resilience.” This event will serve as a valuable platform to explore innovative financial solutions that support climate adaptation and strengthen resilience in the agricultural sector.
The event will feature two distinguished speakers who bring expertise from both international and regional perspectives. Mr. Alexander Wiese, representing ARIC and the UNEP Finance Initiative, will offer insights into how Green Bonds can effectively support agricultural adaptation to climate change, highlighting their potential to finance climate-resilient practices and sustainable growth in rural economies.
Additionally, Mr. Erick Rodriguez from FIRA Mexico will share the organization’s experience in preparing for bond issuance. His presentation will address critical steps such as the necessary reforms, investment frameworks, and risk assessments that public development banks (PDBs) should consider before issuing adaptation bonds. FIRA’s example serves as a textbook model, illustrating how public financial institutions can leverage bonds to drive sustainable agriculture and climate resilience efforts.
This event represents an excellent opportunity for PDBs to learn more about the role of climate adaptation bonds in enhancing agricultural resilience. Attendees will not only gain practical knowledge but will also engage in meaningful exchanges of ideas, fostering a collective brainstorming environment.
