Valentin Bellassen

Senior Researcher, French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE)

Valentin Bellassen is a senior researcher in environmental economics and evaluation of public policies at INRAE since 2014. He holds a PhD in environmental sciences (2010) and his current research covers the multi-criteria evaluation of food value chains and the evaluation of policies impacting both agriculture and the environment. He is a specialist in climate economics, with past positions at the Environmental Defense Fund, in the delegation of Papua New Guinea as international negotiator on forests at the United Nations (UNFCCC) and at CDC Climat where he managed the research unit on carbon offsets, agriculture and forestry. He is also an accredited UNFCCC reviewer for national greenhouse gas inventories.
