This document represents the final report of NRSP project R6675, ‘Modelling the sustainability of frontier farming at the forest fringe’, which aimed to analyse and model resource interactions within smallholder production systems and to identify key indicators that determine the long-term viability of farming enterprises. The report describes how the project identified four indicators of sustainability at the farm level. These include forest cover, income, agrodiversity and pasture quality.
