This project aimed to develop and promote improved techniques for dry season vegetable production and to reduce the fragility and enhance the fertility of soils in cultivated areas of the humid belt of West Africa. A manual and pamphlets were produced which outlined the most promising improved techniques for promotion by government and non-government organisations involved in agricultural extension activities. Outputs included the development of improved techniques for using animal manures and appropriate green manures for dry-season vegetable production.
