All Africa (July 8, 2015) Latest reports from Kilimanjaro show that the region is facing a serious problem of food shortage and is in urgent need of over 9 million tonnes of maize. In a thorough assessment of the food situation in the region which was conducted in May, this year, Kilimanjaro regional authorities established that an intervention would be required to rescue some areas in Same, Mwanga, Hai and Moshi Rural districts from food shortage.
