India: Direct cash transfer scheme to control food inflation: CACP study

Daily Bhaskar (Apr. 1, 2013) | A study by Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) says that the direct cash subsidy transfer scheme initiated by the UPA Government would help in downscaling food inflation. According to the study, the scheme would help reduce fiscal deficit by Rs 60,000 cr, which in turn would depress soaring food prices.
