Thailand: BAAC urges state crop insurance fund

Bangkok Post (Feb. 13, 2012) | The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) will propose a crop insurance fund to cover risk from natural disasters. Assistant manager Boonthai Kaewkhuntee said the fund, with objectives similar to those of the 50-billion-baht natural catastrophe insurance fund, would help the government better manage risk in the agriculture sector.
